A Very Popular Couple

Picture the old McCormick-Deering stationary engine -- it still "runs" after 80 years. Focus on the 1939 Ford tractor -- one of the very first farm tractors with a three point hydraulic. Faded gray paint on fenders and well-worn front tires speak to many thousand rounds of turning sod, stubble and vegetable garden. Over 300 guests "cranked" their way back into time minutes after arriving at the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Bill and Nancy McCowan on July 27, 2002. Portraits taken with these interesting relics from the old McCowan farm in Scarborough Heights set the tone for a lovely afternoon of memory-swapping and acquaintance-renewing.

Bill and Nancy were both born in Scarborough, Bill at the McCowan farmhouse at Kingston and McCowan roads and Nancy on the Weir farm at Finch and Markham.

Here's best wishes to Mom and Dad McCowan and hope for many more years of good health and happiness together at their home in Pickering.
